Show OFFICERS FOR B.P.W. CLUB ELECTED; TEA PLANS MADE Ida S. Harrison was elected president of the Roosevelt Business Busi-ness and Professional Women's Club Monday evening at a dinner meeting at the Frontier Grill Cafe. Chosen as vice president was Lillian Lil-lian Wilkerson of Neola; secretary, Ann Dilworth, Ft. Duchesne; and treasurer, Sadie Bank, Neola. Veda Jensen, current president, took charge of the meeting and introduced the International Rela tions chairman, Mattie Edwards, who was in charge of the meeting. Her committee consisted of Vi Harmston, Gladys Zimmerman, and Sadie Bank. Guest speaker for the evening was Mrs. Jesse Allen, who spoke on "International "Internation-al Relations." Specialty numbers included a tap dance by Eva Milligan;. piano solo, Geraldine Denver; girls' quartet, Billie Reidhead, Leota Pitt, Laura Lee Lerdahl and Margaret Mar-garet Huber. A patriotic theme was evidenced in the American flag centerpieces and the red, white and blue corsages cor-sages as favors for each lady. Plans for the annual BPW Senior Sen-ior Girls' Tea were discussed by the co-chairmen, Blanche' Murphy and Bee Jordan, who announced the following committee chairmen: refreshments, Hazel Ashton; invitations, invi-tations, Wanda Riggle; hospitality, Lois Leavitt and Virgie Murphy; entertainment, Mattie Edwards. Date slated for the tea is Monday, May 14. Retiring officers with Veda Jensen, Jen-sen, president, are Virginia Niel-son, Niel-son, vice-president; Naomi Gardner, Gard-ner, secretary'; and Mary Burgess, treasurer, who have guided the local club through a very successful success-ful .year. |
