Show SEASONAL CHATTER By Sugar 'N Spice W E 'R E SURPRISED that George Stewart even wonders who smashed in the front of his office Sunday, after all the heckling he gave to the friendly suggestions made by helpful Bob Andrews, Bill Nelson and party at the Union game Friday. We failed to see any resemblance whatever between Old Shep and any of those fellows. In spite of George's nearsightedness, we thought he did a marvelous joo of broadcasting the plays. HATS OFF to the high-stepping twirlers who entertained ths spectators during half-time at the game. We hope that the pep Jean, Muril and Alice displayed dis-played will be carried throughout through-out the coming games. AFTER THEIR remarkab'e seed crop they have just harvested, har-vested, we are wondering if Jeanne and Verlen L. are contemplating con-templating retiring. It's quite an accomplishment to be able to take off six bags of seed per acre of alfalfa. Bet they take that New York trip after all. WHAT WOMAN about town recently missed her first club meeting in eight years. Sun Valley Val-ley must have been quite an attraction to take her away after af-ter a record like that MEASLES May SOUND like a childhood disease, but this Isn't necessarily so, as Janice I Anderton can tell you. HOME FROM KOREA after two years absence is Wayne Haslem. We don't know what his plans are, but we are glad he is home and we're anxious .'to hear some of his experiences. ' BOUQUETS TO THE aggressiveness aggres-siveness of Union High in the I progress they have made with i their football field. We were j astonished to find such a well- sodded field underneath that . dense growth of weeds. Espe-I Espe-I cially deserving of commendation commenda-tion are the people who moved the bleachers Srom the rodeo grounds. We also liked the new I fence they have built and their the bleachers. RIGHT PERT at the theatre Sunday was Peggy O. in her new knit suit and elegant costume cos-tume jewelry. Nothing slow about these Roosevelt gals when it comes to fashion. SEEMS THE FEVER gets all of them the engagement fever that is. Flashing a gorgeous diamond dia-mond this week is Maurine Miles, new employe at the local Commercial Bank. Lucky man is -Max Anderson, of Bluebell. Wonder what's so intriguing about that place? The minute a girl starts working there she becomes engaged! |
