Show Letters To The Editor: Dear Editor, I have heard it said that the way to get rid of a little stink, is to stir up a lot. At least more than your neighbors can stand. I have an idea that when the spring thaws come around you are going to smell some things in this town that don't smell like green grass and lilacs. You know there has been a few small groups talk of a city garbage disposal system. So why not bring it to light and all that are interested do something about it. At least we could have a truck pick up garbage through out the town once in a while. The wet garbage twice a week and the dry garbage once a week. This is only a suggestion to get the ball started to rolling. As one man said to me as we were making our way up Lagoon street, dodging trash carried by one of our local breezes, seems like we are paying too much for protection and not enough for sanitation. Now, don't say, "Clean up your own back yard." I know it needs it, but I don't feel capable of heading for the city dumps with two garbage pails every time they get full. However, I guess I'd better get started as it's quite a hike and I want to make it back for supper. Bill Nelson |
