Show Vernal Gun Club Advances Big Project State Fish and Gam Officials Attend M&eling Held In Vernal Friday Evening, January 14 Forty Head of Elk To Be Purchased From Yellowstone Park For Transplanting On Ashley Forest The Vernal Rod and Rifle club, sponsors big meeting and luncheon held at the Grill and Scout house Friday evening, January 14. Assured State Support The Vernal club, asked support sup-port of the State Fish and Game Commission, in securing and transporting 40 head of elk from the Yellowstone Park into the Ashley National Forest, as well as fish holding ponds and planting plant-ing of more fish in the Basin i streams. Director Ross Leonard, of the State Fish and Game department, depart-ment, as well as Commissioners Jack Clay and George H. Harrison, Harri-son, assured the Vernal organization organi-zation 100 per cent support. Director Di-rector Leonard expressed appreciation ap-preciation to the club for the privilege of meeting with them, explaining that this is the only way our commission can keep informed of their likes and dislikes. dis-likes. Marion Madsen, Fish Cullurist of the department explained just what the development plan consisted of pertaining ' to the Whiterocks fish hatchery, he declared that when the project is completed it would be one of the finest hatcheries in the state, and would be a beautiful recreation recrea-tion grounds for the entire Uintah Uin-tah Basin. Boosted Membership The Vernal club boosted its membership at the meeting. |
