Show Heola Ruih B. Jensen Wedding Of interest to their many friends is the announcement of the marriage of Flora Bastlan and Melvin Wilson, at the home of the bride's parents, with Bishop Bish-op Rex Gardner officiating. The young couple were united in a candlelight ceremony Friday evening, eve-ning, April 18. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Erastus Baslian, of Neola, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wilson, of Tridell. A beautiful 3 tiered cake, with a bride and groom adorning the top, formed the centerpiece at the dinner enjoyed by thirty-six members of the immediate families fam-ilies immediately following the t , ceremony. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Malnar announce the birth of a girl, Friday, Fri-day, April 18 at the Roosevelt hospital. This is the Malnar's fourth child. Mr. and Mrs. Clair Mills returned re-turned home Sunday evening from Bridgeland, where they have spent the past week at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Merle Jennings. Jane Larsen returned from Chicago last week, where she has spent 3 weeks visiting. The grounds at the L. D. S. - chapel were crowded with enthusiastic en-thusiastic workers Thursday.. The day was spent cleaning, planting and beautifying the grounds. The women of the ward cleaned the interior of the chapel and served a pot luck lunch. Mrs. Naomi Linit and small son, of Pocatello, Idaho, and Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dillman visited at the home of Mrs. Tal Wardle Sunday afternoon, . Sunday School conference was held Sunday, April 20, with Stake Supt. George Hacking and Stake Secretary Miss White attending. at-tending. Mrs. Elroy Halverson was hostess hos-tess to seventeen of her friends and neighbors Wednesday evening. eve-ning. Owen Bodily, of Vernal, representative of the Stanley Products, gave a demonstration. Delicious refreshments were served to those present. A large crowd attended the wedding dance for Mr. and Mrs. George Houston, Friday evening in the Neola gym. They received many beautiful and useful gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Morris Woodward Wood-ward entertained Wednesday evening for their son, Clifford, of Montwell. The occasion celebrated cele-brated his birthday anniversary. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Grover Dye and 2 children, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Woodward and 2 children and Nathaniel Woodward. Wood-ward. Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Ober- hansly, of Ft. Duchesne, visited here, Monday. We are proud ? to report the following Centennial improvements: improve-ments: Mrs. Emma L. Wimmer is building an addition to her home; Grant Elmer has added additional rooms and is ready for stucco on the outside; Marion Mar-ion Harrison and Jay Larsen have been planting lawns and putting fences around their homes. Elroy Halverson was guest of honor at a birthday dinner, Wednesday, Wed-nesday, April 16. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mitchell and daughter, Anna, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bingham were guests. Mrs. Thompson, of Lapoint, is visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Yack. Geneva Whiting entertained a number of friends Wednesday afternoon. A delicious luncheon was served to Rose Gardner, Sarah Sar-ah Crozier, Marguerite Mitchell, Iona Gardner, Luella Sullivan, Clara Timothy, Zola Spencer, Fern Olsen and Mrs. Lewill Ol-sen. Ol-sen. Mrs. Mildred Anderton was taken to the Roosevelt hospital last week. Word was received here Sunday Sun-day of the death of Mrs. Mary Halverson Peterson, of Mapleton, a sister of Martena Jensen. Mrs. Martena Jensen and Lionel Jensen Jen-sen left immediately for Maple-1 Maple-1 ton, where they will attend the services. Those participating in the M. I. A. dance festival at Roosevelt, "Wednesday evening were: Mr. and Mrs. James O. Peterson, Mr. and M.rs. Donald Jensen, Lola Davis, Delias Spencer. Phyllis Wardle, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Yack and Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Henrie. Those attending the F.F.A. chapter Fathor and Son's banquet, ban-quet, Saturday evening were: Rex L. Gardner and Garth, Theron Horrocks and Jay; Jay Larsen and Richard, Lionel Jensen Jen-sen and Niel, Wayne Bastian and John Chasel. Mrs. Laura Gardner is critically critical-ly ill at this writing. Mr. and Mrs. Dace Mitchell received word Friday that their son, Wendell, had sailed for home. He has been stationed in Japan. |
