It will be pulling two rabbits out of the hat, one for the farmer and one for us guys. But down in the bottom of the hat will be a goat that will never be pulled out the one who foots the bill John Q. Public. WALLACE (IDAHO) MINER (Rep.) says: . . . .So, the bosses in different differ-ent labor unions are wearing long faces these days, because they and President Truman will have to continue to live under the protection of strong labor laws. PITTSBNRG (TEXAS) GAZETTE (Dem.) says: Henry Wallace says he is will ing to "go alone" in support of his own ideas. What is he waiting wait-ing for? The people have already told him to go. Most people will recall that Hoover got mixed up in a depression and they are still blaming him for what happened. Maybe Hoover was not to blame. and I for one thought he could have worked the thing out alright al-right if he had had a little more time. But the secretary" doesn't say anything about the taxes it will be necessary to levy to keep his cockeyed proposal going. Taxes! They take all the sweetness out of the Brannan cake. |
