Show Leases To Be Given Carter And Stanolind Carter Oil and Stanolind will i be awarded the oil and mineral lease on 16,638,28 acres of Uintah-Ouray tribal land west of Neola in Duchesne county, the Indian . agency revealed Thursday. Thurs-day. Opened today at 2 p. m.. bids were accepted on four land units. The joint high bid by the two companies was $26.88 per acre on' Unit No. 1. A similar lease, to Units 2, 3, and 4 will be given giv-en to Pacific Western for its high bid of $32.25 per acre. Units 2 and 3 are for 40 acres; Unit four is 80 acres. Both bids are subject to approval ap-proval by the joint tribal committee. com-mittee. Carter and Stanolind will start drilling operations within six months after the lease is issued, is-sued, and will drill to a depth of 9,500 feet, or until they strike oil. : Llil |
