Show p55X5XS52 Whiterocks An official visitor at the Uintah boarding school this week is Miss Cleora Hilblng, supervisor of the Home Economic Econ-omic Dept of the Indian Service. After spending a two weeks vacation at the home of her parents, par-ents, The Rev. and Mrs. S. J. Talbot, Miss Mary Talbot returned return-ed to New York where she will resume her training as a Cadet Nurse at the Cornell Nursing school. Mrs. Robert Marimon, Jr., entertained en-tertained at a birthday party Saturday, given in honor of her daughter, Nancy. The afternoon was spent in playing games and contests. After which a dinner was served to a group of little friends- They all reported a very enjoyable afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Bastian announce an-nounce the marriage of their son, Coxs. Shirley Bastain of the U S N to Miss Jean Perry, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Perry of Botley Heights, England. The wedding took place September 5. Shirley graduated from the Alterra high school in 1939 and enlisted in the Navy December, 1942. He was sent to England in January, 1944 ;nd participated! in the invasion on D-Day. Warren Odekirk of Salt Lake and son, Lt. Warren L. Odekirk were overnight guests at the L. Odekirk home. Lt. Odekirk, a fighter pilot in the Army Air Corps has just returned from a tour of duty in the Aleutian Islands. Is-lands. He has served in the A A F for ZVz years, before going overseas he was a pilot instructor instruct-or in Mississippi. He will return soon to Sant Ana, California for reassignment. Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Twite-hell Twite-hell announce the marriage of their son, Pfc. Morgan Twitchell of the U S Army. The wedding took place sometime in August at Paris, France, i Mr. and Mrs. Jhn Murray received re-ceived word that their three grand children, Helen, Denny and Richard Murray who have been critically ill in a Salt Lake hospital, have fully recovered and will be able to return home soon. Mr. and Mrs. Lon Logan left this week for Nebraska, where they v. ill spend their vacation visiting friends and relatives, Mrs. Cordelia Frances is visiting visit-ing relatives in Salt Lake this week end. Mr. and Mrs. - Glen- Cooper were callers at the Wheeler home Sunday. Mr. Cooper has recently returned from Germany where he has been serving with the U S Army Engineers. He has recently received his discharge. Alick Greene was taken to a Salt Lake hospital Monday. His condition is serious and he will have to undergo an operation. |
