Show Duchesne Pullers Score Wins At Local Fairs Two horse power, even in these days when 2000-horsepow-cr motors arc a commonplace, can be a lot of drag, at least if you get two really powerful horses of the kind owned by Ray Gill, Arcadia, Duchesne county, farmer. The seven-year-old duo, pulling pull-ing in the middleweight class, have made consistent records as good or better than those of heavyweight teams pulling in the same meets. In their first year of competition, competi-tion, the pair emerged winners at pulling contests in Vernal, Neola, Duchesne county; Duchesne and Roosevelt. Only defdat came at the Utah state fair, when illness of one of the husky Clydesdales made their competition only a gesture. In a state whicn is developing more and more interest in -its horsepulling contests which feature fea-ture nearly all of the summer and fall celebrations, Farmer Gill's multi-horse powered team will bear a lot of watching next year as time for the ."pullin" matches" rolls around. |
