Show Game Leaders Of Nation Ready For Salt Lake Meeting Upward of 500 fish and game leaders throughout eleven western west-ern states and just plain sportsmen sports-men who are interested in the conservation of their natural resources re-sources will converge on Salt Lake City for the 4-day meet of the Western Association of Fish and Game Commissioners starting start-ing June 1. The four-day event is under the direction of Ross Leonard, Utah Fish and Game Director and this year's association president. presi-dent. Some of the finest talent in the fish and game picture in the world today will be in Salt Lake for the meet, Leonard said. Included In-cluded on the agenda are such prominent fish and game leaders as Seth Gordon, executive secretary, sec-retary, Pennsylvania Fish and Game Commission; Dr. Ira N. Gabrielson, president, Wildlife Management Institute, Washington, Washing-ton, D. C; Albert N. Day, director direc-tor of the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and a host of western fish and game leaders. ' Gordon, one of the country's leading conservationists, will talk on "The Educational Program Pro-gram in Pennsylvania.'! Dr. Gabrielson Gab-rielson will discuss "Reclamation vs. Conservation." The fish and Wildlife Service chief will deliver de-liver a paper on "Basic Principles Prin-ciples of Waterfowl Management." Manage-ment." The conference will get under way at 10 a. m., Tuesday, June 1 with a public hearing on waterfowl, water-fowl, sponsored by the Fish and Wildlife Service. Following registration reg-istration on June 2, the convention conven-tion will officially get under way at 9 a. m. with an address of welcome from Mayor Earl J. Glade and Governor Herbert B. Maw. t The convention is open to the public. All sportsmen arte invited, in-vited, Mr. Leonard said. Fish and game groups, no matter how small, are urged to send delegates dele-gates to this important meeting. |
