Show Aspirants Fill Party Rosters In Bids For County Political Posts Representative to the legislature legisla-ture and county commissioner posts appeared today to be the popular offices among both Republicans Re-publicans and Democrats of Duchesne Du-chesne county. In the GOP column, H. L. All-red, All-red, Roosevelt, incumbent Duchesne Du-chesne county representative, and William Brotherson, Buncta have placed their names. Democrats Demo-crats aspiring to the legislative nod of their party are J. P. Mad-sen, Mad-sen, Duchesne; Douglas Lindsey, Mt. Home; and J. H. Harrison. Roosevelt. Very definitely there is not a shortage of candidates for county coun-ty commissioner nominations, particularly in the 2-year field. In the 4-year commissioner contest con-test on the Republican side are: L. J. Gilbert, Arcadia; and Al-phonso Al-phonso Madsen, Boneta. The Democrats have no entires as yet. For 2-year county commissioner commission-er the Republicans who have filed arc: Nathan Jones," Tabi-ona; Tabi-ona; George Brandon. Mt. Home and Wm. Fieldsted, Mt. Home. Democratic . hopefuls include Marvin Michie, Tabiona; Max Burton, Tabiona; and Ray Lab- rum, Roosevelt. With two Republicans in the race for their party's senatorial nomination, the GOP appears to have, pretty well filled its slate. The Democrats, on the other hand, are minus a candidate for the nomination for state senator, and are on the scout for a prospect. pros-pect. In Democratic circles Lynn Orscr, of Roosevelt, is being seriously ser-iously mentioned. Without committing com-mitting himself, Orser has hinted broadly that he will file for the senatorial nomination. Some sources believe that the nomination nomina-tion of Orser - would strengthen county Democratic ranks. E. L. Murphy, of Upalco', is also classed class-ed among the possible on the Democratic list. Uintah county Democrats, stock holders in the fifth legislative legis-lative district, have displayed no signs of coming up with a senatorial sena-torial prospect, and presumably they will not. An old agreement between Duchesne and Uintah Democrats that the post be rotated ro-tated between the two counties is in force and ylhis year on the side of Duchesne county. |
