Show Funerals JULIUS RALPH PIKE Julius Ralph Pike, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyda Pike, of Long Beach, California, former Uintah Basin residents, died Dec. 13,1947 as Sautellc hospital in California. Borji Nov. 3, 1922 at Tabiona, he spent his early life in Alterra where he attended Ballard elementary ele-mentary school and Alterjra high school. The family moved to Long Beach in December, 1941. He was married to Pauline Connors of Mona, West Va., in 1942 at Long Beach. He enlisted with the Army in 1943, and received re-ceived his basic training at Camp Roberts. Assigned to the infantry he was sent overseas in 1943, where he spent 3 years in the Americal division. Wounded on Bougenville in 1945, he was hospitalized overseas and then sent home with his discharge in 2946. Mr. Pike underwent brain surgery sur-gery at the Salt Lake veterans hospital on Nov. 17, 1947, and was transferred to the Sautelle hospital on Dec. 1. Funeral services were held in Long Beach, Wednesday. He is survived by Mrs. Pike and a daughter, Patricia Carol, age 4; his parents; 2 sisters, Mrs. Laura Thompson and Mrs. Helen Tomany, Long Beach; 1 brother, Robert Pike, Los Angeles; and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hall, Roosevelt. " AMANDA MARY TODD MYTON (Special) Amanda Mary Todd, 85, died Monday evening at 5:30 at the .family residence in My ton, of Causes incident to age. She was born Oct. 3, 1862 at St. Louis, Mo., a daughter of Fredrick and Fredricka Biebush. She received her education in St. Louis and was visiting in Colorado when she met Albert M. Todd, whom she married August 5, 1885 at Evans, Colo. The couple resided there until the opening of the reservation in 1905, when Mr. Todd moved to Myton. Mrs. Todd and the children child-ren in 1906. The family home-steaded home-steaded near Myton and have resided here since that time. Mrs. Todd was a member of the Presbyterian church and had endeared herself to the entire Basin through her act of kindness and friendy consideration. Besides her husband she is survived by 3 children: Fred M. Todd and Alice M. Todd, of Myton, My-ton, and Mrs. Myra Philipps, of Long Island, N. Y. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted con-ducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Myton Presbyterian church with Pjev. Verner, of Vernal, officiating. Burial was in the! Myton city cemetery. I |
