Show Reserve Officers Scheduled For -Staff Assignments General Mark W. Clark, Commanding-General of the Sixth Army, has announced the initiation initia-tion of a system whereby his general staff will include at all times one Reserve Officer and one National Guard Officer. This is the first time that such- a measure mea-sure has been adopted by any of the six armies. The move is being made in order to bring about a more effective unification of the Fsgulu'Army and the. civilian Vunpo&ats in the Sixth Army area. TJie eight states in the area will be represented in rotation on General Clark's staff.. The first officer ' selected to be called to active duty for this purpose is Lt. Colonel Robert C. Dean, transportation corps reserve, Helena, Montana, who in civilian life is executive secretary secre-tary to the Montana Trade Commission. Com-mission. After serving a six-months' six-months' lour, Colonel Dean will be returned to an inactive status and replaced by a reserve officer offi-cer from one of the. other states in the Sixth Army area. National Guard officers will be rotated in the same manner as the ORC officers, but will serve one-year tours. It is expected that announcement will be made within a few days of the name of the first National Guard officer offi-cer to be assigned this duty. |
