Mr. and Mrs. McCoy Nyberg and daughter, Maxine met their daughter, Beth and Mrs. Ny-berg's Ny-berg's sister, Mrs. Laura Bywa ters at Mrs. Annie Warburton's home at Roosevelt on Sunday. Both girls have employment at Hill Field. Jack Jenkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Jenkins came home Monday morning on a furlough from San Diego, California, where he has been taking his "boot" training in the Navy. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Huber received re-ceived a card from their son, Darrell that he was leaving for duty soon. Harvey Long, son of Mrs. Guy Long of Roosevelt was calling call-ing on friends here the past week. Harvey is home on a furlough fur-lough after being in the service the past 2 years. They were former residents of. Lapoint. Mr. and Mrs. Willis Moon and children of Hanna visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hayden I I Foster during the week and also her sister, Mrs. Gladys Wardle and family. George Graham was in Salt Lake City the past week receiving receiv-ing medical care for his eyes. Hayden Foster's Sunday school class held a party at the . home of Frank Jenkins on Wednesday Wed-nesday night in honor of Jack Jenkins who is home on a furlough. fur-lough. Games were played and lunch served. The Jenkins family also gave a party in the Lapoint chapel Thursday night in honor of Jack. A program was rendered render-ed and dancing enjoyed. Harvey Long of Roosevelt who is also home on furlough was honored at the party. Mrs. Ed Van of Salt Lake City is visiting relatives here. Her husband has just recently entered enter-ed the armed forces and is stationed sta-tioned at Camp Roberts, California. Cali-fornia. Mrs. Mary Norton received word that her hsuband Joe Norton Nor-ton had arrived in Texas and would take his basic training there. Eli Smith and M. McNickell left Thursday morning for Kansas. Kan-sas. Mr. Smith will visit hi3 son, Marvin who is taking training there, and Mr. McNickell will visit relatives who live there. Loyal Cox and Jiggs John- son left Thursday morning for Salt Lake City to take their physical examinations before being inducted in the army. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Hurst received word from their son, Vernon that he had landed at Camp Roberts, California and was taking his basic training there. Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Harrison received word that their son, Carlyn had arrived overseas and was now stationed in France. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Anderson of Vernal visited in Lapoint on Thursday night and attended the party given in the Lapoint chapel chap-el in honor of Jack Jenkins. Jack left Sunday for San Diego to report back to duty. |
