Augu6st 28, 1947 Lapoint Mrs. Mable Jenkins Mr. and Mrs. Harold Allred and family, Zelda Hodisken and family, of.Orem, visited a few days last week with Mr. and Mrs. Lorin Ross, of Tridell. They also visited at the home of Mr. andl Ms. Merrell Rasmussen. I Mr. and Mrs. Preston Searles of Vernal visited Mrs. Searle's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rile Blackburn, Black-burn, one day last week. They also visited Deloss Searlc and family at Willow Creek. Mrs. Ovena Angus Nowland, Reed and Dean Angus, of Blythe, California, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Angus. Their mother, Mrs. Alice Angus, of Blythe, will return home with them. Florence Garrett and daughters, daugh-ters, of Salt Lake City have been guests at the home of Mrs. Annie Marcos. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. David Jenkins. Georgia Walkup, of Farm Creek, is visiting her aunt, Mrs. Leona McConkie, and family. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pope and family, if Glendale, California, have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Hartle. Mrs. Pope is Mr. Harlle's sister. Mr and Mrs. Dean Sessions, I of Dry Fork, visited Mrs. Ses-; sions parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy 1 Huber, on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lamar, Norton and family, of Clearfield, have been visiting Lamar's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Norton, and other relatives. Bishop Lee Walker chose two new counselors at Sacrament meeting Sunday: Jeremiah Harrison, Har-rison, first counselor, and Orvel Swain, second counselor, to replace re-place Albert Norton and Roy Huber Mr. Norton has served in the bishopric for 14 years and Mr. Huber has served 4 years. Orvel Swain was released as superintendent su-perintendent of the Sunday School and Roy Huber was sus-, tained. Joe Norton was released from the Y.M.M.I.A. and James Schacfermeyer was put in as president. Mr. and Mrs. Ray White and children, of Vernal, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Horrocks, one day last week. A shower and dance was given giv-en in the Lapoint ward chapel, August 22, in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Chauncy Penfold. A large crowd was in attendance and many lovely gifts were received. The young couple plan to make their home in Myton. Mrs. Margaret Harrison returned re-turned Friday from Salt Lake City, where she went to attend the wedding of her granddaughter, granddaugh-ter, Evelyn Harrison. Evelyn is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Rus-sell Harrison, of Denver, Colo., former residents of Lapoint. Russell Harrison and son, Ar-vin, Ar-vin, of Denver, visited his mother moth-er and other relatives and friends here on Tuesday. Mr, and Mrs. Edward Talia-ferrs, Talia-ferrs, of Green River, Wyoming, are visiting her mother, Mrs. Alice Angus. . -, A birthday parly was given for Mrs. James Schaefermeyer, at her home Friday evening. Rook was played and refreshments were served to thirty guests. |
