The General completed Air Command Com-mand and Stall' College, Maxwell Max-well Al'B, Ala. in 17, and attended the advanced management man-agement program for executives, execu-tives, Carnegie-Mellon University, Uni-versity, Pittsburgh in 1976. In 1978 he was named a distinguished disting-uished alumnus from New Mexico State University. He was awarded a commission commis-sion through the Air Force Reserve Re-serve Officers' Training Corps program upon graduation fron New Mexico University and entered active duty as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force in November, 1954. THE GENERAL completed pilot training and became an instructor pilot in both basic and instrument instruction. In September, 1958, he completed com-pleted the interceptor pilot course, and was assigned to a fighter-interceptor squadron in Germany. He returned to the U.S. and attended the air- tcrs, Langley AFB, Va; Sacramento Sac-ramento Air Logistic Center, McClelland AFB, Calif.; and Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Robins AFB, Ga. THE GENERAL transferred to Headquarters U.S. AF, Washington, D.C. in September, Septem-ber, 1977 as deputy director of the Maintenance Engineering and Supply, Office of the Deputy De-puty Chief of StafT, Systems and Logistics. He was assigned as deputy director of Logistics Plans, Progams and Transportation, Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Logistics Logis-tics and Engineering in April 1978. In June, 1979, Gen. Mar-quez Mar-quez became deputy chief of Staff for Plans and Programs at Headquarters AF Logistic Command, Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio. He assumed his present command in July, 1981. MEMBERS AND their friends will find this a most enlightening en-lightening presentation, putting put-ting in perspective the Soviet military versus that of the U.S. This is one meeting no one should miss.
