| Show garden city gleanings the people are taking advantage of the fine weather by getting and other vegetables dist school opened on the ath dinst with E J howell of fish haven as teacher it is generally believed lie he will give entire satisfaction the weather veatter lias has been fine for three days past the rain last week was followed by a fall of snow but it was all gone be before fore saturday night died on the dinst david the infant son of george and margaret pope aged 13 days the alie mother has been very low but is now on the mend our stores are doing good business this fall D S cook had bad a load of goods brought in last week and has gone himself for another load this week work on E S bibbings Bis bings house is progressing nicely and will be finished finisse in a few days bro T Long longhurst burst will wil then be trying to make someone else believe their house needs repairs success bro we are anxious to see the county improving we are greatly in need of a new school house here the one we now use is more tit fit for a barn when we go to woodruff and randolph and see the beautiful school houses at those places it makes us almost ashamed of garden city in this respect but we hope we will not be long b the times we have one of the nicest little places in the country but we dont appreciate the situation right bro the prettiest town in utah is garden city but it needs anew school house and we hope to see one erected ere long which will he be a credit to the town ed HC garden city utah october 20 1897 |
