Show TWO FLOODS FOR RICHFIELD THIS WEEK much damage done in cemetery and streets flow rivers of red mud sunday aft afternoon LYDoon one of the severest storms seen here in years sears struck 1 this tova tow n the ram rain descended in torrents and for an hour the waitr katr conNer concerted ted the streets into rivers when the rain ceased it was thought the worst was over but two hours later the effect of the heavy downpour in the west nest hills became apparent A veritable flood came from the west and the streets were soon running rivers of red turbulent water no damage was done to proper property t y although there was as much profanity launched upon the because of the deposit of red mud left in the track of the floodwaters flood waters much driftwood was nas carried down and was gathered by the people nearest where it lodged the southwest part of town got in most ost of the flood although a considerable amount made its way fro it cottonwood tori abr through c ough the streets running north and south as far as center street the noise of the flood coming off the west mountains caused considerable sid erable uneasiness but the water had divided into many channels ere it reached town and thereby much damage was avoided not until tuesday did it become known that serious damage had been done in the cemetery by the flood on sun flood carried dow down n debris into the canal and at a bridge near the tha aeme tary this lodged and bickel the water of the canal so io thit that th it it flowed into the south side ide of the cemetery andsen and several thousand qu ire feet of the enclosure wis wa submerged causing krives graves to sink and tombstones to topple over A second flood on wednesday afternoon more than that of sunday again caused the streets to flow rivers of red mud |
