Show AS ab TO COUNTY IniN riNO the call devoted much of its splice to the reaper greiper last ack neck in I 1 addition to its objection to the political Politic II news we use the word news advisedly it his has a lone iona tirade about the count printing wi we agree with the cill call C ill to the extent that the county printing should be let to the lowest bidder in the county butin but in th lh matter of delinquent lists ant anil financial reports of the county we ne are of the opinion that circulation should cut some soine figure in the mitter milter in these matters publicity is the thing the liw law aims it and the paper hai having ing the virgest circulation is certainly ceita the best medium for rp spreading reading the delinquent dolin lin quent lists and financial reports of the county while ve v e appreciate the fact that the call needs the money we cant help thinking that that paper be 1 i I poor medium for reaching the majority of the people of this county if the county cin can afford to use two to or more papers for its advertising of matters which the lav lan requires should be advertised we hae not the slightest objection in fact we like th the idea and we would like to see the call get its full share of such stich matters in the matter of all other printing it would be a good idea for the corn com missioners ners to award it to the lowest bidder in the county but the solicitation nf bids from big printing firms outside of the county is an injustice to the local printers the county and county officials official draw drav their substance from the taxpayers of the county and the printers pay their just proportion towards their support and it is only a matter of common justice that all county printing be awarded to the establishments in the county that arp are contributing to its support it is a certainty that where outside firms with facilities that a country print shop could not support are allowed to bid that their bids will or at least should be lower than the country printer but that alter the fact that where money is thus hus saved to the county the amount paid laid for the printing is lost to the county that paid to the county establishment is kept here and adds to the countes coun tys wealth 17 7 it is in a line with all other purchasing done outside of a town money sent out of a town tonn does not help belp the town or community it is loht to them and there is this also to consider that the fact of there being com competitive compe titie e houses in this county keeps outside printers down to a figure which would never be given could the have hac the work nork to themselves and no ocal local houses to compete against it is s a vital matter to the reaper and the call that all county printing be done by the resident print shops that is N what hat the business bu biness is 11 established for and we are of the opinion that home printers are entitled to the work N ork the commissioners will nill be looking after the interests of the county if they will see to it that all work that can be done here shall not be sent of out the county not alone the printing should be given to the county establishments but all other supplies should go to houses in the county the office supplies of the county officers are largely obtained from houses outside of the county and the business houses of the county suffer thereby the amount saved by such dealing can be but small and the good done by patronizing local houses would be in excess of the paltry sum saved |
