B.irrv made and installed 'entrance" 'entr-ance" and "eit" signs at the Adelaide Elementary School. t JEFF MURRAY Jeffrey Murray of Farming-ton Farming-ton was presented his Eagle Scout aw ard at a Court of Honor Hon-or held at the Farmington Stake Center on Feb. 6. FOURTEEN year old Jeffrey Jef-frey is a student at Farmington Junior High School. His project pro-ject was to l?y the sod at the new tennis courts at Farming-ton, Farming-ton, near 500 South and 400 East. He enjoys sports of various types and will take part in the regional wrestling tournament to be held soon, enjoys snow skiing during the winter. JEFFREY is the son of Dariell and Jo Ann Murray. His father was an Eagle Scout as was his grandfather, James Murray of Myton, Utah, who also was awarded the Silver Beaver award. Jim Cowan is his scoutmaster, scoutmas-ter, ki v. r. V fn STEVE MATHIESEN An Eagle Scout badge has been awarded to Steve E. Mathiesen, son of Erik and Susan Mathiesen of 542 W. 1880 S., Woods Cross. STEVEN is a member of Pack 232 of the Woods Cross 4th Ward. He is in the ninth grade at Millcreek Jr. High. Under the direction of Wil-lard Wil-lard Richards and Ed Gray, he earned 31 merit badges, with sailing his favorite. For his Eagle project Steven made two basketball backboards for the church. STEVEN has also achieved the Order of the Arrow. :' r .. !C ' o ' t ' JIM ALI.MAN Jim Allman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel D. Allman, received re-ceived his Eagle award on Feb. 5 in the West Bountiful 6th W ard House. He is also a past member of Order of the Arrow and has attended such leadership leader-ship training courses us Silver Moccasin. JIM IS 15 years old and attends Viewmonl High School. One of his main interests in-terests is his drama class in which he enjoys very much. He is also an avid basketball placr and is a member of the sophomore squad at Viewmonl. View-monl. The merit badge he enjoyed earning the most was space exploration, ex-ploration, while his least favorite favo-rite was safety. When asked what advice he would give young scoutcrs working towards to-wards their Eagle he replied, "ln'l ever stop working for it. The longer you put it oil the harder it is to get working again. 1 know it took me over a y car and a half to do my Eagle service project. It 's better just to get it over with as soon as you can." , '-v. DAN HAMILTON Daniel Hamilton, 14, received re-ceived his Eagle Scout award at a Court of Honor for Troop 691 1 at the West Bountiful 6lh Ward on Feb. 5. DANNY IS an honor student in the 9th grade at Centerville Jr. High. He participates in many sports and is mainly interested in-terested in football. He also loves fishing and camping. Swimming was his favorite badge to earn. For his Eagle project he organized his troop to read onto tapes tw o hooks that were donated to the Bountiful Convalescent Con-valescent Center. They were "Where the Red Fern Grows" and ''Summer of the Monkeys." SOME OK the leaders that have helped him are Ron Brimholt. Lance Ridges, Sam Allman. Ron Littlelield, and David Webster. He is the son of Spencer and Gerry Hamilton of W est Bountiful. - STEVE LARSON Steve Larson, Woods, Cross, received his Eagle Scout Award at a court of honor hon-or held Jan. 30 in the Woods Cross Second Ward. He is the son of Joe Larson and Kathleen Kath-leen Larson. THE AWARD was presented pre-sented by Acel K. Thacker of Woods Cross. E. Layton Patterson, Pat-terson, a former teacher of Steve's, represented the Lions Club and presented him with a belt buckle. Steve is a junior at Woods Cross High School. FOR HIS Eagle project he collected information from the Poison Control Center and organized a pamphlet about toxic household plants and drugs and their effects. He then distributed it to families in the Woods Cross community. He has earned 24 merit badges and is a member of Troop 310. |
