Show West Bountiful By ALICE MITCHELL The past week has been very hot in the area, reaching 100 degrees several times. Swamp coolers have often been useless use-less because of the excess moisture in the air. The nights have been a problem, since it has lightened and thundered loudly the major part of some nights. The afternoons often have been cloudy and there have been showers in the valley and in the mountains. The heat has been a detriment detri-ment to the women who have been doing their usual summer canning. The berries have been doing their large and delicious. deli-cious. The corn is ripening and is absolutely great for eating. The apricot nectar is really a' drink for the Grecian gods. Some of the people of the area have been experimenting with different types of cucumbers. cucum-bers. The cucumbers in vinegar vine-gar and salt and pepper are a great addition to any meal not to speak of the many pickles done at this time of the year.
