Show Presentation For Families Of Mentally 111 The Davis County Mental Health Center in Farmington will have a spokesperson from the recent convention of the National Alliance for the Mentally Men-tally 111 held in St. Louis, Mo. Aug. 4-7. MARGARET Snow will re-. port on the latest research in this field. A tape will be played of the talk given by the parents of John Hinckley, who attended the conference and told of their painful experiences. experi-ences. The slow insidious onset of schizophrenia makes the diagnosis di-agnosis difficult. The sick individual indi-vidual is very trying and difficult. diffi-cult. The Hinckleys were told their son was "overly depen-, dent." BUT IF the sick person is . pushed out to make it strictly on his own, it could be very disastrous to the public as well ' as to the sick one, as subsequent subse-quent events have borne out. The Hinckleys know much more about this disease now than they did then. And they have decided to devote their lives and money to fund research re-search for the cause and cure of this illness. The meeting will be held Wednesday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.-at p.m.-at Davis County Mental Health Center, 85 S. 185 E., Farmington and will hopefully help the families and the community com-munity understand and cope with mental illness. |
