Show funeral held for accident victim impressive funeral services were held friday afternoon in the sevier tabernacle auditorium for miss aliss gwen 20 daughter of tir mr and mrs airs ernest who was vas the victim of an automobile accident the n night ight of september 20 C P christensen of the fourth ward bishopric conducted the services with bishop hamner E pet erbon presiding As a prelude francis huni hunter ter accompanied by mrs airs wm osborne played a violin selection the beautiful floral displays were arran arranged ged as a fitting tribute to youth honorary pallbearers pall bearers members of the richfield girls drum and bugle comps corps who served when miss aliss was a member of the organization were evelyn gledhill donna goodin mary dean curtis lorna loma powell ogden gwen johnson phyllis poulson evelyn brown and darlene mai Alai tines pall bearers were cousins paul grant and james hieston Pi eston ivo and lavoy gledhill A quartet composed of mrs stanley johnson mrs otto L anderson R 0 jackman and A W rowley accompanied by mrs airs ANT W smith sang the opening number sometime well understand dundei stand patriarch H J hansen offered the invocation following which mrs irs stanley johnson sang my task R T thurber spoke mrs al W smith accompanied by miss lael dean nelson sang im a A J ashman spoke and mrs L A poulson sang one fleeting hour the benediction was by W A mae mac sevy accompanied by mrs airs smith played a violin selection A perfect day interment was in the city cemetery dr T R gledhill a member of the stake presidency dedicated the grave mr air thurber for whom miss aless had worked as a stenographer stated that he found in her the same character of industry honesty and ambition that he had found in others of the family whom he had known for four generations as home builders and citizens of sevier county time he said will heal the tragedy of her passing and the things for which she stood will arise as the fragrance of the past and we will remember her not because of what happened to her but for what she was mr air ashman briefly reviewed the young ladys accomplishments and spoke of her as one of those vital characters of youth who stimulate and encourage those about them he referred to her willingness to respond to the desire sire of her parents to let them realize in her some of their dreams of educational opportunities and spoke of the sacrifices they had made to help their children develop along lines that are fundamental for the enrichment and betterment of life A tribute to the fine personality of he young girl and a feeling of sympathy and respect for her family found expression in a largo large at carlance of friends from all parts of the county |
