Show local implement dealers attend salt lake meet D E boam jules A bryan and V R johnson of the richfield implement company have just returned from salt lake where they were guests at a dealer meeting of the international harvester motor truck organization the occasion was the announcement of an entirely new line of international motor trucks they are most enthusiastic about the various improver improvements bents incorporated in the new internationals the complete new line consists of 26 models in 77 wheelbases wheel bases with gross vehicle weights ranging from to pounds they included four wheel units six wheel ers with both dual drive and trailing ina axel and cab over engine types powerful truck engines numerous wheel wheelbases bases a variety of rear axel ratios two speed rear abels and multiple speed trans missions especially in tho the heavy duty models permit accurate selection to satisfy many special hauling needs they also stated that much was waa said at the meeting about international harvesters expansion of research engineering laboratory manufacturing and proving p r 0 v I 1 n g ground facilities the two big truck works in fort wayne ind and springfield ohio were enlarged by addition of net buildings and new modern machine equipment at port fort wayne an axel manufacturing unit with square feet of floor space was built engine production departments were also enlarged at springfield where light d duty u t y trucks rucks are arc manufactured new buildings luil dings totaling more than square feet of floor space were erected these include a new assembly unit one of the most modern in the automotive industry there are three parallel assembly lines each almost 1200 feet long other new buildings provide greatly increased cab body and sheet metal parts production and painting facilities |
