Show cleanup clean up and beautification campaign campain ta n for richfield city proclaimed for april 5 to 10 rubbish t to 0 be hauled haule d away monday and tuesday april 5 and 6 plans outlined OutI ined every citizen of richfield is urged d to bring civic pride into prominence next week by participating wholeheartedly in the annual cleanup clean lean up and beautification campaign proclaimed by mayor W L warner wamer for april 5 to april 10 10 inclusive clu sive citizens are urged to gather up all rubbish from their homes burn bum that which can be burned and place that which cannot be burned in neat piles at the edge of the street outside their homes to be picked up and hauled away by trucks at the expense of the city to make it possible for the trucks to cover the entire city in the two days set aside for this work monday monay ay and tuesday april 5 and 6 it Is is requested that rubbish to be hauled away be placed in old sacks tubs or barrels so BO it can be easily loaded onto the trucks an organization has been effected that should make this the most successful campaign of its type richfield has ever had provided full support is given by everyone in the community in addition to a general cleanup campagna to be conducted within the city it is proposed to clean the dumping grounds immediately north of the city these grounds have become not only unsightly but a possible menace to he health alth waste material in the dumping grounds that con can be burned or buried will be disposed of in this way and other rubbish piled up so it is ia not so unsightly the dumping grounds will be changed to a new location on some city property about a mile farther north and all rubbish hauled during the cleanup clean up campaign will be taken to the new dumping grounds and further at the old grounds will be prohibited this work will be done at the expense of the city and under direction of the cleanup clean up committee from the city council in line with city beautification will come a project to have lawn grass planted along the curbing on main and center streets weed eradication and the p planting lanting of trees shrubs and flowers throughout the community will be urged two members of the city council G W coons ac chairman and howard A have been appointed as the general cleanup clean up committee standing committees of the city council will aid in supervising work under their jurisdiction organizations of the community have been requested to work with these committees in taking the initiative and giving support to the campaign in units as follows city cemetery and pioneer cemetery daughters of utah pioneers and american legion auxiliary parks and public grounds study club main street and back alleys business and professional club homes fences and churches relief society school grounds the schools streets ditches and sidewalks boy scouts lions club american legion plans to promote city beautification were discussed at a meeting of representatives of all the above named organizations and the cleanup clean up committee tuesday |
