Show FIRE MARUS IN SEVIER DISTRICT SCHOOLS expert says conditions are dangerous makes some recommendations fred B gee listed fire hazard expert and member of the national fire protection association has completed a survey of fire conditions in all of the school buil buildings dino of the sevier district the survey was authorized recently by the board but without obligation A report of the survey was presented to the school board at their meeting monday and the board is now making a thorough investigation of the hazardous conditions pointed out in the various buildings mr gee who has completed installation stal lation of modern modem fire fighting devices and automatic alarm units in the schools of kane garfield iron washington and beaver counties states that the sevier schools generally are poorly and inadequately equipped for fire emergencies and urged the board to make every possible effort to eliminate the fire hazards or at least to reduce them to a minimum heavy loss of life has occurred in schools ig as good as the best iii the sevier district mr gee said and brought attention to the fact that the recent school disaster in texas brings the total of children killed in school catastrophes in the united states to well over one thousand the vast majority of these tragedies can be attributed to indifference and negligence such tragedies mr gee stated will continue until the causes are eliminated by fire prevention education such as state laws requiring ng school fire drills better building in g construction elimination of zacious ha hazardous conditions regular inspections ions by competent trained authorities and scientifically proper and adequate fire prevention facilities |
