| Show h t L E NOVE EH 3 S RED CROSS MY south sevier chapter starts roll call for members sunday november 8 will be red cross sunday and will be observed in churches throughout the nation by special programs calling attention to services of the american red cross locally arrangements are being made to have it disic discussed assed by speakers in churches throughout the south sevier chapters territory it was announced tuesday by D H t oil 1011 call chairman and mrs airs ora J lewis president of the chapter the annual roll call will start thursday november 12 and district captains have been appointed to conduct house to house canvases in all wards within the chapter to give everyone an opportunity to join the american red cross an organization formed by an act of congress and known for its work in iii great emergencies and in becent years for its practical efforts foi ts to bring service into chan alls of everyday life the membership quota for the south sevier chapter totals andis and is divided as follows richfield sigurd 40 venice 35 glenwood 40 monroe annabella 25 elsinore 50 joseph 25 koosharem Koo sharem 15 cove 5 austin 5 the membership fee is 1 of which fifty per cent stays in the local chapter and fifty per cent goes to the national organization ben W carpenter field representative senta zenta tive of the pacific branch office was in richfield saturday and outlined plans for establishing first aid stations at service stations at monroe joseph and sigurd before the first of the year at such stations workers are given special training in first aid and are subject to answering calls to bring persons parsons in from scenes of traffic accidents within their territory this provision alone is well worth sevier county residents giving their membership to the red cross the red cross will be given publicity in a shirley temple trailer at the kamema theatre november 7 to 13 there are now chapters and branch organizations of the american red cross |
