Show MISSION high tributes paid president and mrs peterson at farewell parties the farewell testimonial tendered president and mrs airs jas M peterson paterson by the fourth ward monday evening was character charac characterized tei prized by a spirit of sincerity and true friendship the program with but few exceptions was carried out as outlined in the reaper last week As the audience which crowded the room left each reserved received a warm handclasp and good wishes bishes from the honor guests who touchingly expressed their deep regard for the people of richfield and sevier stake As a final gesture the sevier stake M I 1 A board of which president peterson was for many years the advisor from the stake presidency entertained at a banquet at the stake tabernacle A sego lilly symbolic of utah with a gold star symbolic of the lone star state texas were daintily combined as a motif for the place cards developed in the M I 1 A colors gold and green they were made and designed by louise and ila dastrup the rhe long table held covers for nearly sixty including president and mrs jas ia M peterson the old and new stake presidency the M I 1 A board members and their partricia part neis cis and as special specia I 1 guests mr air and mrs orson F christensen mrs christensen hav having in been released only recently from ah the a M 1 I A board A roup group g of au M I 1 A girls assisted in serving A if maughan acted as toastmaster for the banquet calling for toasts symbolic of the personality and character qualities of the honor guests using their initials J IT P and L wendell N anderson stake Y M IL 1 I A president responded to the toast just dr T R gledhill hill to the toast magnetic majesty manhood mrs S R boswell Y W AT I 1 A president to the toast purposeful and prepared and finally ila dastrup a board member gave the toast love cleverly painting in poetic form the characteristics of the honor guests community songs were directed by vern Elom blomquist quist miss maida stewart accompanied at A the piano by margaret poulson played two violin selections and a quartet from the il I 1 A boards composed of mrs blomquist miss louise dastrup H B mendenhall and clifford magleby mag aleby sang two selections A gift was presented president and mrs peterson by the board mrs boswell making makin the presentation immediately following the banquet the stake presidency and high council entertained the ward bishops clerks and patriarchs of the stake and their partners and the M I 1 A group at a delightful social in the lecture room of the tabernacle J F ogden conducted the program which included as a special number a vocal duet by president and mrs peterson the games were progressive with a patriotic theme light refreshments fresh ments were served during the evening the general committee in charge was composed of president F IL ogden orson F christensen J W ross judge N J bates and J F ogden games were directed by mrs orson F christensen and mrs harider E peterson J W ross was manager for the dance before they left richfield this morning the petersons were entertained at a breakfast by mr and mrs W L warner |
