Show 0 R H S STUDENT I 1 activities I 1 0 0 special assembly A special assembly was called monday morning at which mr fox president of the L D S business college spoke on typing he was accompanied by bill coy a student of the college who demonstrated his skill on the typewriter in a one minute test before the assembly he made with apparent ease words per n minute in a fifteen minute test teat in the class room at college he had made on an average of words per minute without a single mistake last friday assembly last friday the assembly program was sponsored by the quill and scroll club it included an interesting talk by miss ema elna miller of the U S A C she talked on the importance of choosing a correct diet and showed charts which pictured the foods necessary for health and their relative value to the body the rest of the program was as follows readings by jeanne ashman and donna moss violin solo by maida stewart tango dorothy christopher son and oscar jacobson Jaco baon and a stunt by the pavant davant club after the fhe assembly a short short pep rally was held in which real pep was created yell books were handed out and the entire student body grouped together at the west end of the hall to produce the pep which won the basketball game with salina friday night ever readies the ever ready club has ha been working hard on their annual valentine assembly which will be presented friday the theme of the program will be a valentine shop it will include parts for all the girls today after the rehearsal for their assembly the ever readies plan a party celebrating the birthday of the club the club was organized in 1917 by five girls in an efert to promote pep and school spirit the enrollment of the club gradually grew and today it has twenty members each with the same purpose as the original five |
