| Show CEDAR BREAKS T 0 BECOME NATIONAL MONUMENT ON ath elaborate program planned for dedication next wednesday ly cedar breaks will be formally dedicated as a national monument on july fourth plans for an elaborate program and celebration at the breaks are being completed rapidly by the cedar city and yd parowan carowan chambers of comma commerce in conjunction w with th the national nation al parks service and indications are arc that the affair will be one of the th biggest events ever held in sou southern th utah invitations have been extended to prominent national state and church officials to participate in the ae days festivities and assurance has been given that most of them will acteria z thomas C parker assli assistant tinO superintendent u of zion and bryce canyon national parks announces that the department part ment of the interior and the park service willbe will wilh be represented by officials from washington and that possibly arno amo B camerer director of the bureau of park service will be there present plans call for the dedication meeting to be held at the rim of cedar breaks at ten on the morning of the fourth with a free beef barbecue to besera be served by C C C boys and the paro wan chamber of commerce in the af afternoon A program of recreation and sports will be conducted throughout the chii day with L C miles of the dixie national forest and vertis C wood recreation supervisor of cedar city in charge bands from cedar city and parowan carowan and a choir from st george will furnish the music for the occasion which will draw several thousand people to the breaks on that day A beautiful auto camp ground is available as is also the utah parks parka company lodge for visitors who care to take advantage of the facilities provided by either the sponsoring organizations extend an invitation to all rest resi dents of utah and the nation to join with southern utah in commemorating mem orating this event |
