Show FISH UKE OPENS WITH FOR BIG season low water in streams will bring crow crowds ds to sevier county resort this year more than ever be fore S sevier L v ar county people and fishermen from all over the state are looking forward to june 15 the day when they may throw throb their lines into the cold clear waters of fish lake and pull out the willy trout low water in practically ay every s streams and many of the other lakes will probably be the cause of fish lake enjoying one of its best seasons if not the best since it has become nationally known advises from state fish and game officials including W C sorensen superintendent of the glenwood hatchery indicate that fishing will willbe be good the egg take this spring and last fall was considerably above previous years and the size of the fish spawning was larger than usual the officials say this wo would ul d indicate more and larger fish in the lake if this is true it is only reasonable to expect that the mackinaws Mackin aws are also larger and that possibly one will be taken from the lake this year that will surpass in weight any previously taken last year a mack variously estimated to weigh from 30 to 34 pounds was caught by a salt lake nimrod but mrs chas is credited with having hooked the largest one caught there so far one slightly larger than last years best however many of the fishermen who will be at the lake for the opening session will not be interested in catching the big ones they will line the shores and try to get theirs casting generally speaking casting is good on the first day of the season but a year ago found many reputedly expert casters throwing lines practically all day without landing more than two or three small rainbow it is to be hoped that this year will be more more productive regardless of how good or how poor the fishing scarcely an able bodied man will be found in richfield or any nearby town june 15 it has now become a tradition that june 15 is a holiday as far as sevier county is concerned and all go to the lake |
