| Show FUNERAL HELD AT FOB S prominent business man and church worker laid to final rest one of Rich fields pioneer business men and founder of the richfield furniture co soren who died at his home here last friday night after an illness of about two years was paid a fitting tribute of respect at funeral services held wednesday in the sevier stake tabernacle A large attendance many beautiful flowers expressions from the speakers and appropriate prop musical numbers gave evidence of the esteem in which mr was held by his a associates C P black of the first ward bishopric presided the speakers were president jas AT M peterson who gave a biographical sketch of mr mrs alma ence who read an original poem portraying the fine qualities of the departed bishop F AT ogden and president R D young all of whom spoke with sincere appreciation of their departed f friend bishop enoch R larsen of the first ward read a letter of condolence from N C poulson of salt lake city a fornier former bishop of the ward music was furnished by a mixed chorus with mrs J jas a s AT peterson as soloist directed by mrs A J bird in addition to two vocal trios by mrs helen poulson mrs florence anderson and mies aliss madge peterson and a violin solo by J G hilgendorff the invocation was offered by L P hansen and P C B peterson pronounced the benediction interment was in the city cemetery E W crane a relative from salina dedicated the grave orson christensen G W blomquist N P peterson john kyhl geo A beal and S G blaik who served in the sevier stake high council with mr a number of years ago acted as pallbearers pall bearers the high priests quorum of the stake attended the services in a body and were given seats of honor on the east side of the building mr Christian sens widow his sons and daughters and his brothers and sisters were all in attendance with the exception of one brother james A of arizona who had bad been here a few days before mr chris tian sens death and was unable to add soren return for the services mr was born march 23 1863 in denmark he came to the united states in 1869 and came to sanpete county on the first railroad later settling in richfield he has been an active church worker having filled two missions one to minnesota and nebraska and one to denmark served two short term missions in the stake labored two years in the manti temple and was a member of the stake high council for ten years in 1898 mr A I 1 r founded the richfield furniture store he was manager of the J M peterson store for several years mr married amanda lund november 8 1887 and to them 12 children were born of whom the following survive mrs enoch R larsen and mrs J owen dastrup of richfield mrs julian E heppler and mrs jos hartz oakland california mrs L L graham salt lake and mrs B Y peterson magna howard A richfield ralph H ephraim and golden M ti ansen salina after the death of mr chris tian sens first wife he married mrs vivian jan 14 1920 and adopted her three children who with mrs ti ansen amsen survive as follows mrs reed blomquist waid and gail Christian aen all of richfield three brothers and two sisters also survive niels richfield H P elsinore james A prescott arizona mrs maraj martin jensen richfield and mrs annie christensen annabella |
