| Show 4 IC CLUBS TO MEET IN KAIBAB FOREST JUNE 4 lions appoint committe to raise funds for advertising verti ver sin k south A number of members of the richfield lions club will join other civic clubs comprising the associated socia ted civic clubs of southern utah in a meeting at V T park in the kaibab forest on june 4 with the kanab lions as hosts according to reports from kanab committees have been to make preparations for a banquet at the resort to be followed by a grand ball only club mem members er will attend the banquet but everybody is invited to the dance the gathering promises to be another link in welding the clubs of southern utah together in their effort to advertise the scenic attractions of the state the program of the associated civic clubs of southern utah as announced b by v the field secretary benjamin cameron jr of panguitch at a meeting of the richfield lions club held monday includes the of funds to advertise the scenic attractions of this part of the state in an effort to stimulate an earlier and later tourist travel than has been heretofore secured and to induce tourists to stay longer in in southern utah for this purpose literature will be distributed in states outside of utah an effort will be made to seccie the cooperation of magazines in giving space to articles cle on southern utah and wo work ric already done by other agencies in giving publicity will be followed up Rich fields quota for the advertising campaign is and F G martines a member of the local club and president of the associated socia ted civic clubs of southern utah urged the richfield lions to give ive wholehearted whole hearted support to the movement A committee to assist mr cameron in raising the money in richfield was appointed as follows M C nelson W L warner and P E harward delegates to the district convention of lions clubs to be held in Poc aello idaho june 22 and 23 were ere appointed as follows george peterson P E harward I 1 F G martines and joe buys with J milton olsen dr otto L anderson lewis J peterson and spencer gibbs as alternates H al reported for the committee attending the utah sanpete county road meeting held at thistle may 14 and mayor Al Mar artines lines gave a report of the ine meeting eting held at mt bit pleasant with avith the state road commission cam mission and lions in attendance stating hat the road commission granted a survey of fourteen miles of road joining utah county and sanpete county through thistle canyon miss bliss merlyn hansen who taught school at castle gate the past term has returned home for tile the summer vacation |
