| Show 11 H S TO HAVE FOOTO L nan NEXT HI FALL work started on extensive improvement of campus at last richfield high schools dream of a football field and baseball diamond is on the point of realization during the past four or five years there has been accumulating what has been called the high school campus fund which has been contributed to from the proceeds of faculty plays a and nd other school activities now the work of improving the campus is in full swing the field is all leveled band within the next week or two the work of sowing the grass seed will vill be completed according to A INI maughan high school principal the football field that will be and ready for play next fall will be about 60 feet wide and feet long the outfield section of the baseball diamond is also to be of turf just as the diamonds used by colleges in accordance with plans arranged some three years ago them the city of richfield has donated the material in the fence and bleachers of the old city ball park to the high school and this will be used in constructing a fence on the south and west side of the campus and in erecting bleachers for the spectators these will be painted thus adding greatly to the appearance of the entire campus at present the work is centering on the football field and by next spring it is expected the baseball diamond will be ready for use A big city celebration is being planned in connection with one of the first football point games next fall which will be the occasion for the formal dedication of the field |
