Show LiSTI IKE STEPS TO THIS SECTION OF STATE SHE plan to exploit southern utah at pocatello convention one of the principal matters taken up at the regular meeting of the richfield lions club last monday evening was the plan to send as large a delegation as possible to the district convention to be held in pocatello idaho june 22 and 23 J milton olsen oisen was acting president of the meeting it was the unanimous opinion of the members that advantage should be taken of the opportunity to advertise the attractions of southern utah and the fol following lowin 9 committee was appointed to in investigate vesti gate the matter of including all the lions clubs in this vicinity in the preparation of advertising literature to be distributed at this convention joseph L asbury F G martines and P E harward the entertainment program was in charge of tone winkel and consisted of readings by mrs lee whiting of elsinore and bab ramsay of richfield mr ramsay and spencer gibbs of marys vale were formally initiated into the club F G martines announced an important meeting to be held at thistle thursday of this week at 10 a in in the interest of the completion of the northern end of highway 89 which would open up this section of the s state ta te to more tourist traffic from the east cast the members of the state road commission will be present and every wideawake wide id awake community concerned is sending representatives to this meeting which is being sponsored by the associated lions clubs of which mr martines is president the richfield lions named W Q tidwell J J winter and H al as delegates mrs john L sevy jr and mrs james R barker representing the richfield study club announced the annual park prom next friday night and extended a cordial invitation to the lions to attend |
