Show CLUB GIVES UP BUT STILL MEETS important session called for monday noon at the johnston hotel the richfield commercial club will hold a meeting at 1215 next monday march 23 in the regular dining room of the johnston hotel for the purpose of electing new officers and transacting other important business these luncheon meetings were resumed last thursday after a recess of several weeks with a special session held at the johnston hotel there were fourteen members present and it was unanimously inious ly voted to give up the clubrooms on account of the heavy expense and due to the fact that very little use has been made of these quarters except for luncheon meetings guy lewis offered the free use of the upstairs rooms formerly occupied by the telluride power company until such a time as that building might be rented and the club accepted the offer with thanks the officers were instructed ted to have the club furniture moved over to this new location and to make a report upon this work I 1 and the financial condition of the club at the meeting next monday noon L R fournier manager of the telluride power company volunteered the free services of a true truck and two men to handle the moving job the commercial club plans a complete reorganization with a lowering of dues owing to decreased expense since the club rooms have been given up but there was an emphatic agreement of all members to keep the organization going even though meetings should be held only as occasion demands H E beal secretary of the club has received a letter from chief engineer H S kerr of the state road commission acknowledging the request of the richfield commercial club for a special betterment appropriation of for the fish lake highway and promising that this matter will be brought to the attention of the commission in the near future when the betterment bu budget d get is brought up for discussion |
