Show aks RE PASSES WITH community shocked by death of second strang boy in in two months james strang jr eighteen year old son of james strang of richfield died of hemorrhage of tha lungs at the family home here shortly after six wednesday evening following a brief illness just two months from the time his younger brother dean was killed when struck by an automobile at about 8 on the evening of january 18 his death was a shock to his family and friends he had bad not felt well tuesday morning and had stayed out of school during the forenoon but felt better in the afternoon and attended school and spent the evening with friends wednesday morning lie he was ill and his father who this week for the first time since the death of his son dean had resumed his work at the james M peterson bank remained home with him A physician was called arriving ing at about nine and after making a careful examination tio found no signs of pneumonia pneumonia a although a slight discharge of blood from the lungs had been noticeable when the boy coughed since about in the morning however he was given a serum for prevention of pneumonia and medicine to check the bleeding in his lungs but it was vas not effective the physician called again at about three in the afternoon and other physicians were called in but it seemed nothing could be done to check the hemorrhage which grew rapidly worse during the two hours before the boy passed away jimmy was a senior at the richfield high school prominent in school activities intelligent alert a boy with a bright future unfolding before him he anticipated graduating this spring and then going to ogden to accept an offer to work with the american canning co there until he had received the necessary foundation training after which the company would send him to school in the cast to train for a higher position with the firm he had been asked to join the company two years ag ago but had chosen to finish his high school education first his friends were not limited to his immediate associates or to the students everyone knew and liked jimmy surviving are the father and three brothers francis earl and jakeh strang jr was born in eureka june 26 1912 a son of james and matilda larsen strang donald the boys mother died si sic years ago and since that time nis his aunt mrs john hood who was vas at the home at the time of ns death has been almost a mother to the boys the entire community feels the deepest sympathy for the bereaved family funeral services will be held here sunday |
