Show CENTRAL 1 by special correspondent I 1 0 old resident passes jens christensen passed away at his home here thursday closing a life of industry jens christensen was born bom in in odense denmark september 27 1848 he immigrated to america when he was a young man at the age of 26 years and after staying in the east for a year came to utah settling at elsinore there he joined the L D S church and later married an elsinore girl lena in in the st george temple after spending three years in elsinore they moved to castle valley but stayed only a year moving from there to central where they have resided 48 years throughout his long time of residence here mr christensen was a bucce successful farmer known for his honesty and industry sir mr christensen was the father of eight children two sons having preceded him in death he is survived by his widow and the following sons and daughters chris J christensen and walter christensen of central mrs chris anderson of elsinore mrs hans of monroe mrs magda of monroe mrs airs mattie christensen of central twenty six grandchildren and seven great gri grandchildren children nd survive together with v t h the following bro brothers th ers and sisters H P christensen Christens cn and miller christensen of salt lake city mrs L knudsen of california and mrs airs margaret larsen of denmark F funeral services were held monday afternoon at central the music was furnished by the ward choir directed by mrs heber Christians cn hartley greenwood offered the invocation speakers were N C sorensen sorens en of richfield J L staples of elsinore and G A A biographical sketch of mr air christensen was read by bishop 0 C anderson the benediction was pronounced by chris al sorensen interment took place in the central cemetery mr air and mrs airs C W hawley and children were guests tuesday at a luncheon at the home of mr air harleys hawleys Hawl Haw leys cys mother mrs airs A R hawley of Ri richfield clifield mrs airs raynor hooton is enjoying a visit from her two married daughters who arrived sunday from los angeles for a two weeks stay miss florce fierce anderson came home from salt lake city tuesday after spending most of the summer there miss madge greenwood returned saturday from salt lake city she had spent a month there with her sisters mrs christensen and mrs garrett mr air and mrs bryant young are in salt lake city for a few days vacation mrs young has been spending the summer here with her mother mr air and mrs airs R B marble are the proud parents of a baby boy born bom sunday mr and mrs airs rulon newel have been here this week visiting mrs newels mother mrs stena al anderson mrs soren nielson celebrated her birthday anniversary saturday afternoon |
