wards was held in the first ward bard chapel and the second wards in in the social hall ball the primary officers of tile the first ward deco decorated ratel the building up beautifully with enri ari colored flowers ater after they returned home from the priesthood meeting the second ard ara officers had decorated their hall earl ier in the week so they were nt quite so rushed at the last moment moni ent A large crowd was present at both conferences hichi were similar in form the first group chi children laren sang one of their little songs and two members of the class gave poems the second group also had bad a song sonar by the boys A mormon boy the third groups part in the conference was a clever little and the trail builders demonstrated their prowess with the hann harmonica onica or rather a member of the class did the bluebirds sang one of their songs and a member of the class gave a reading the seagull gills who were last gave an explanation epla nation of their work and also put on a pantomime the officers of the primaries are highly elated over tile the success of tile the conf conferences bences and the stake board members who were ere present said baid the they y were among the best given this year PARENTS TEACHERS TO T MEET AGAIN SOON sonia some very good programs pro granis will vill be given at the high school in the near future the program richfield is bringing down friday march 30 and second the parents teachers meeting to be held thursday evening april 5 the parents really should take niort more interest in the school and its activities for there it is where their children spend the greater part of their time and it behooves the parents to at least keep it up with tile the children the parents teachers association is is an organization that enables them to do so the leaders of this organization 1 go 0 to great pains to prepare interesting programs program to go along with the discussions lectures etc and although there are arc jarge crowds attending all the meetings it is a small per cent of all the parents at the next meeting the contest play suppressed desires will be presented a flap flag drill will be given which is under the and absence will be the main subject of the evening mr will give a speech of appreciation for the work done on the district school ground and the lions quartet will furnish furni sli several musical numbers number As this will nill be tle their r first appearance after their experience with the mike alike they will undoubtedly have some snippy new numbers this program ought to bring the parents out one hundred per cent and the officers of the organization are hoping that such will be the ca case cae e Tomo now friday principal baker stated state the richfield high school would furnish the plo program grani for the weekly assembly tile the nature of the program is not known but it is sure to be a good one and the public is invited to attend SCHOOL activities MORE VARIED THAN EVER BEFORE thursday said that thai although they win any prizes tile the cast did exceptionally well miss aliss ruth mattsson miss aliss ellen Thon thomas las and moroni jensen who are in chilel the cast all had just who wi ho will get the scholarship that snow college is offering again this year but no matter how hard they pitch in now tile the winner will be one who has worked hard through the entire year for the scholarship goes to the senior with the highest grades for the year TOURIST CABINS GOING UP there is one man in salina at least who foresees a bigger and better tourist season this spring and summer and is preparing pie paring for it and that is henry robison the city mir marshal he is having two double cabins built and from the look of the one now under construction they will always be in demand work was commenced on the cabins last week eek and they will vill probably be finished in a couple of weeks there has bas always been a goodly stream of tourists coming through salina during the summer months but up till now no one has ever bothered to cater to their wants and needs enough to erect cabins the cabins now no nv under construction will suit the taste of the most finicky traveler so there is no danger of them remaining vacant FIRST WARD GIVES WELCOME PARTY the salina first ward sponsored a welcome party for the two returned missionaries miss edra murphy and fred and foehr for mr and mrs airs S J ottley and family mr air and mrs airs howell and family mr air and mrs airs orson and family and mr and mrs airs albert albertson and family who have recently come to salina the big time commenced with a program last F friday evening at the social hall the new comers and the returned missionaries and the presidency of the stake who were special guests guest made a few remarks there were several excellent musical numbers among which was a solo by airs clayton and a duet duct by miss pearl jensen and her father james C jensen chri christian tian offer offered etl the invocation and 0 oscar scar ivie the benediction after the program an old fashioned dance was indulged in and when it came to stepping lively the older generation so slow at a late lale hour a morning when they took a five minute test before the high school assembly miss bell webb who is on the second year team rated at ninety six words for speed but was not quite that high in accuracy mrs george delange and daughter beryl accompanied by gwen harward and bessie crane motored to richfield Eich field wednesday evening of last week on a pleasure trip A unique shower was given mr air and mrs bert murphy thursday evening when their friends and relatives gave avd a chicken shower to them aare there were about twenty five present and after a very pleasant evening a delightful picnic luncheon was served the misses bessie crane and beryl delange and ralph brown and garney gee vent bent on an outing up salina canyon sunday they hoped the pretty weather would last till after sunday
