Show third ward IV 1 A play successful on two evenings wednesday and thursday the third ward af M 1 I A I 1 pu put t on the entertaining comedy honor bright by meredith and kenyon kenyan nicholson under direction of mrs sarah hansen gardner it seems that the directress fully grasped the purpose of such performances and tried to de develop celop latent talent by giving young and heretofore people parts in the cast this is a laudable undertaking and deserves commendation it cannot be expected that budding actors play with the stage sureness and the vini vim of experienced performers and taking t this his into consideration it can be stated that they did good work if they in the course of time will learn leam to io forget their memorizing so their words will come out in a more natural way it will at the same time make them more free in their movements and they will nill learn to use their hands and feet in a proper manner no wonder onder that tha t t those 11 ose who nho had had some experience like misses mala alala poulson dorothy coons and ettene ramsay and mr stood out conspicuously among their fellow actors and actresses aati esses but we repeat that all did as well ivell as could be expected under the circumstances and once in a while a flare of talent ta I 1 ent was noticeable which might be developed into well nell rounded out acting this speaks highly of the efforts odthe directress the play was well chosen and crowded houses enjoyed the performances fd for rm mances ances those who took part were misses ettene ramsay myrtle deuel dorothy coons helen ramsay mala poulson and leah fitzgerald and ray buchanan clair orrock morris LI orris thurs ivan hopkins rodney ross rosa nielson anti and low loniell ell bean the stage setting was anas done so prettily that the audie audience afe applauded loudly when the curtain raised and before a single word was spoken |
