been staged here for many years from the bombardment and serenade by the band to the ball game late in the afternoon it was a round of activities the pioneers and partner over go 65 years of age were the honored guests of the daughters daughter of Pione pioneers ens at al a banquet from 12 to 2 p m with a short program given while the banquet progressed the two remaining pioneers of 1847 A winget and sister mrs airs fidelia demille were present also those who mio have been among amoni the first settlers of monroe mrs airs fanny hansen charles bohman and john barney the sports on the afternoon program went off even better than ww was aa ss expected by the committee a light rain being the only drawback A ball game between redmond and monroe was an interesting feature of the sports but the visiting team won with a score of 17 to 8 the committee in charge of the celebration is to be commended comment led for the success of the lay day the pretty stage decorations of the church honoring the pioneers present the excellent lineup line up and the sports show that they were up and doing in a commendable manner mrs airs alma magleby as chairman mrs C AT C dark k mrs airs glen winget mrs charles N white and mrs J W pa formed the general committee with dr C clark elliot larsen elwin cloward and john barney assisting in the sports t cars collide on canal bridge fred madsen and mcray magleby Alag leby were ere badly cut and bruised here sunday 1 evening and two automobiles badly damaged as a result of a collision of the two cars driven by frei fred madsen of monroe and george staples of elsinore the accident occurred on the cement bridge across the canal on lower main alain street where they made an attempt to pass each other the ford coupe belonging to fred madsen was nearly demolished by by the impact the cement wing of the bridge was also dp maged the two young men were thrown through the wind shields of their cars magleby bein being with the staples party both bo boys were taken to dr clarks office where their injuries were attended to local and personal mr and mrs L H swain and children returned to their home in salt lake city monday taking with them ward
