Show A anent nent the coming hunting season suggestions from sportsmen regarding the opening of the hunting season in this state on sage hens upland grouse quail and pheasants have been sent to the various sportsmens sports mens organizations of the state from the alie office of D 14 madsen state fish and game commissioner the sportsmen have been requested to give their opinions opinion as to the tinie time and length of the open season and the bag limits mr ali madsen announced that open season will be declared this season on all types of game birds on sage hens and upland grouse the season will vill be for ten days starting either september 1 or september 4 some sportsmen have favored the latter late date as it falls on sunday if satisfactory arrangements can be worked out for the protection of pheasants there is no reason why the open season on grouse should not be thirty days mr madsen said quail are plentiful throughout the state but the pheasants in the same area are only getting a good foothold in many sections and could not stand an open season of more than four or five days it is expected that the pheasant season will be limited accordingly and to only a few counties with ith a bag limit of two males daily it was announced that open season in practically all sections of the state on sage liens hens and grouse will be allowed only an exceptional drought I 1 N would old cause the department to change it this s view view as that would result in a concentration of birds at water holes I 1 salt lake tribune |
