league game our basketball season ended at the monroe high school with the final league game played at gunnison last friday night in which our team was defeated by a score of 2926 29 26 it seemed that we were entitled to win this game but the smallness of the hall and the type of baskets used in in gunnison which were different from the baskets used in any other hall in this division together with the good luck of the gunnison players seemed to baffle our boys and made them look different in their playing from the type of playing they had done heretofore the gunnison boys gained a good load lead before our boys were able to score and built up that lead until at the half it was 18 9 our boys staged a real comeback come colne back in the third quarter and tied the score at 20 all but they seemed unable to continue their rally and the third quarter ended 2220 22 20 during the fourth quarter our boys seemed to be losing out again and gunnison increased their lead to 2926 29 26 track and baseball plans the high schools of the county are in favor of entering league baseball they have decided to revise the old national game and organize a league since both schools and towns are very much interested in the game it is felt that by so doing a great deal of sport and enthusiasm will be created in fact the high school is the place where ball players are developed baseball practices begin immediately as also does track work our track prospects this year are very promising we have cecil bertelsen and bert swain on the weights ray julander on the hundred yards russell Alag magleby
