inspectors on the job during the time the sevier county cattle were gone over not all of the animals were slaughtered in isalt alake lacity 3 carloads being forwarded to oakland california w where here they will be slaughtered under government inspection and the post mortem report will be forwarded to the county agents office anyone witnessing the slaughtering terin g and examination of the dairy specialist encourages koosh abern cheese factory ben R eldredge dairy specialist utah agricultural college spent monday tuesday and wednesday of this week in sevier county with county agent holmstead in the interest of dairy work the chief purpose of mr eld dredges visit was to meet with the koosharem Koo sharem people and try to prove the necessity of a cheese factory in their community koosharem Koo sharem has long been in need of a cheese factory or creamery in order to concentrate cen their dairy products so that transportation would not eat up a large portion of the returns conditions are favorable for or a cheese factory at koosharem Koo sharem according to reports the community produces sufficient milk to operate a factory to good advantage providing good management and good cheese makers can be secured of 01 course it is taken for granted that the milk must be delivered clean and sweet to the factory before a cheese maker can make a high quality product mr program club leaders training school information was just received that sevier county will be entitled to select C G boys and girls who are arc willing and capable of assisting in conducting club work in the county this year to attend the annual club leaders training school at the IT A C during april 7 to inclusive the extension office and county high school teachers are cooperating on the selection of the boys and girls who will represent this county at this school this is a splendid opportunity for students to meet students from other sections of the state and gain valuable information on organizing and conducting club work with a group of younger boys and girls the selection of the students will be made in the near future and their names will be published himy training bureau this little community has but fifty families it has 43 form owners and 10 tenants thirty nine of the farm owners are members bers of the farm bureau and three of the other farm owners are represented in the farm bureau by their tenants as farm bureau members bight of the ton tenants are farm bureau members and one of oe the other tenants is represented in the farm bureau by his land owner owne r so this leaves only one tenant and one farm owner not represented in the farm bureau in other words per cent of the farming interest of the community is represented in the farm bureau in 1923 only two and seven tenths per cent of the members failed to pay in their dues aud and already this year per cent have paid up their dues in full this community has 44 4 t bald up tip members men voted down this wa was s a petition asking the county commissioners to levy a two tenths mill additional tax for sevier county fair while the members present were highly in favor of a county fair being held each year they felt that inasmuch as the county commissioners in ners have been appropriating sufficient each year in the past to make the fair a success that to ask them to levy an additional tax would be entirely out of keeping with the spirit 0 of the tax association and farm bureau work |
