| Show FAIR GROUNDS TO OF SEVIER counte city gets county lot in exchange 1 biving T up the spring ditch road several important matters were discussed and decided upon in the council meeting of last thursday mayor parley magleby Alag leby presiding the county counte commissioners came to make the final igual arrangements for exchanging tho the so called county lot tor for the fair grounds which heretofore have been owned by the city the city traded conditioning the turnover on retaining free access to the sewer and septic tank on the fair grounds and this condition will be properly provided tor for in the trade agreement the question of improving the spring ditch road is still an open matter no decision as to immediate grading having been reached in the council meeting J W ross one of the owners of abutting property appeared before the council to heartily endorse the improvement provement pro pro and all councilmen seeing the absolute necessity of the work are anxious to get it done yet they do not like the idea of going ahead without the property owners having expressed their willingness to be taxed for the purpose and for this reason the recommendation by mayor Blag magleby leby to advertise the intention of improving the road and commence the work was tabled tor for the time being the organization of the fire department part ment with hans borg as tire fire chief J S shipp secretary and treasurer linden johnson grover parks clarence smith and harry thompson as members was sanctioned and the plans of this department to construct a chemical tire fire fighting wagon were approved and sanctioned the council approved the plans and survey of the piece of ground adjoining the city cemetery to be used as an addition to the cemetery and burial lots can now be had in the enlarged cemetery the water master was authorized to shut off the water tor for all water users who are delinquent in paying the water tax the next council meeting will be bield thursday december 6 |
