| Show THE GLORIOUS FOURTH A program has been worked out lor for Bicht Rich ields fields fourth of july celebration by a committee that saw to it that the celebration be less noisy and more dignified it is a good thing that such is the case it may bata have been fitting that noise and gen oral eral jollification were the prominent features of the glorious fourth of the boyhood of our nation but we have bare reached our manhood days now and must put away the rattles and rompers of children we must con elder eider this fact and act as becomes those who have reached maturity lud nd from whom the world rightfully expects aspects ind and demands mans perform I 1 ance that results in good for hum WIT CT that we should celebrate the glorious lou i day is true yet while justly and rightfully celebrating and rejoicing in it we roust must not forget that there are arc clouds overhead and convulsions threatening under our feet we must reverently return thanks to the almighty for the wonderful derfus act that made us an independent nation we must gratefully remember the glorious accomplishments in the past but at the same I 1 time we should carefully survey and consider the dangers that exist in the present on the grounds we must I 1 march over in the future the fields of international relations and of politics have become fields of battle and in the turmoil and strife attendant upon lupon any action where interest is pitted against interest and man against man there is neither too much time nor too puch much inclination to pay attention to any of the niceties which oil the wheels of social program of course almost in any other department of life except political leal we find men regulating their conduct toward each other with more regard to decency and to the demands of righteousness and honor and this is the formost duty of all who want to be worthy of being members of our independent nation |
