| Show 0 0 MONROE GRADE SCHOOL 0 0 the third grade was very interested in trying to make miniature 4 settlements of the early pilgrims they have made boats of all kinds and other articles representing dutch scenes they also have a pilgrim colony consisting of dolls indian wigwams and many old relies relics which the children have brought from home the children are all eager to learn all they can about what their forefathers did for them A successful thanksgiving program was rendered b athe junior high on wednesday the program was as follows prayer by desma crawford reading by laura nielson a shori short drama by some of the junior high students jokes by ivan magleby mr C P olson of the high school then gave several readings benediction was given by ruth A physician representing tho the utah public health association visited the grade school nov 23 28 to examine the school children for boltre goitre he found that many children had slight 11 cases of it the schedule for basket ball has been drawn up in which the junior highs of monroe richfield elsinore and salina will play the monroe boys have an hours practice in the gym nearly every night and will have a good fast team to beat the other schools the sixth grade is having a spelling contest this week between the boys and girls the losers to give the winners a party our volley ball team series ended nov 23 with the columbus team champions we are ready to play any other school in the county the eighth grade just returned from their imaginary trip to hawaii where they spent an enjoyable time they took pictures on the trip of many beautiful places visited or passed through and also made a map of their travels these were put tc together gether in a diary booklet called our own trail the booklet is now completed with a very appropriately designed cover |
