Show ANNABELLA 0 0 our relief society was well represented in joseph at the south sever eer stake relief society conference bield inne 2nd and there being tile the president and n acl IS members present who reported an enjoyable time sir mr and mrs peter lundgren of monroe visited us in conjoint meet ang ng sunday evening we were glad to have our usual conjoint meeting sunday evening june ath A tn special feature was a russian dance given by ross thurston which was very verv much enjoyed by all mrs alice elliott and children mrs altreda alfreda hendrickson and children mr bir and mrs irs curt jenson were all visitors at the home of mr and sirs willard anderson one day last town clerk elroy thurston thursta an ana board member james barney made a business trip to richfield wednesday in behalf of 0 the town water nater works ralph fairbanks laurel lloyd gleave and floyd roberts have gone to idaho to shear sheep mr air glen W thurston has been hauling salt rock and herding cattle on oil the mountains the past neek beet thinning is on in full swing and tor for the next few weeks the Toung youngsters will bo be keeping at least one commandment namely by the sweat of thy brow thou earn thy bread but it is not their bread that draws them to the beet sields but the thought of the many nice things they can buy and the good times they will have with the money they earn before the fourth ol of july archie hanchett has been very ill pneumonia but Is improving at the present writing A surprise party was tendered mrs airs eliza elizabeth beth camp at her home wednesday afternoon june ath it being the birthday anniversary of that worthy woman about 16 ladies were present to wish her many happy returns dainty including fresh home raised strawberries were served by her daughters mrs edward roberts mrs floyd roberts and the Al misses lisses beth and mildred camp miss velma was at the party it being her last day at home before starting on her mission eugene barney has returned home from the wild cat canyon road where he has been working the farewell dance for miss velma in the amusement hall wednesday evening was a great success A large crowd from here and central Al monroe lonroe and richfield Richtie ld was present to wish miss velma success on her mission A short program was enjoyed at midnight every one responded to encores music was furnished by the monroe orchestra miss left thursday morning tor for salt lake city accompanied by iier her mother and sister afton who stayed to take in the conference and gardeners convention mr george littlefield was brought home wednesday from the wild cat canyon where lie has been working oi on itlie tho road he was sick with pneumonia and has beon been confined to his bed since ile he is recovering june is the month of roses and also brides mr lafell winn and ethel gardner two popular young people of our town hied themselves to richfield thursday june ath and were married in the courthouse A shower was given them in the evening at the house of mr and mrs samuel meacham over people received invitations and many useful and beautiful presents were received dainty refreshments were served while dancing and other amusements were indulged in until a late hour we join the many friends in congratulations mr ammon roberts our beloved choir leader and church worker was taken suddenly ill friday at his home with appendicitis his con altion became worse sunday and no lie was removed to the richfield hospital whore where an operation was successfully cess fully performed and latest reports are that lie he is getting along all right we all hope for a speedy recovery our ward sunday school conference was held here sunday june 11 alth th the program in the forenoon was mostly given by the children short talks by brother A D and sister ellen thurston who were original of the annabella sunday school in 1879 1379 and who gave interesting accounts of 0 the organization nine original members of 1879 received badges mr air john magleby and wife sylvia collings ceilings and the misses vera and louisa Blag magleby leby were visitors from mr magleby and miss collings being sunday school officers spoke very interestingly in our afternoon services roy holt of central washington county and his sister dora and miss beth bracken are in town this week visiting with relatives E elroy thurston and his bis son morris and warren started to paro wan tuesday with a load of salt they expect to be gone about a week |
