Show association DIS CUSSES TOPICS the executive committee of the sevier district teachers association held a 1 session sessco n at superintendent Ash ashman maii b office last saturday afternoon with all members present but one among the many matters considered was the institution of a paper representing the association and made possible by the generous offer of the reaper superintendent ashman inas as elected editor in chief of the paper with v ith authority to appoint the other members of his staff it was decided to ask each school of the district to appoint a member of its faculty to serve as a reporter or contributor from that hat school and to ask each reporter or contributor to send at least some copy much or little to the editor not later than the of I 1 e each ell month so that the paper can call be issued on tho the it was suggested that the policy of the paper should be to publish i not just jus t school news such as is produced for the school page of the reaped I 1 but to publish polish reports of special activities tivi ties special plans and sp special ecil problems which will be of professional interest to the teachers of the district 1 in ili order that definite plans for attending the state convention at it salt lake on october 20 might be sent to tile the teachers through the paper it was vas decided to have the first issue out before tile the tenth of this month if possible the newhouse hotel was chosen as headquarters for sevier district teachers teacher during the convention and tile the teachers are advised to write without delay to the hotel for reservations vat ions miss helene was appointed a committee of 0 one with authority to tc appoint her assistants for service as a program commit committee tea to provide and organize entertainment for the teachers en route to and from the convention it was recommended by the committee that high school and junior high school teachers should wherever possible organize local institutions for tho the consideration of local problems and professional advance nent during the first week of beet vacation and that they should visit schools in other districts the first days of the convention week tile the committee voted its unqualified approval of the movement to se ouro permission from the board of education for tile the use of the trucks for bringing students to and from lyceum programs and other evening appointments committees representing the three high schools are arc considering this problem and will probably meet with the board r net ket ke t saturday concerning it |
