stake presidency were in attendance the music for the morning was furnished by the richfield third vard ard choir under the direction of nf john hood flood the selections being fist a congregational hymn redeemer of israel Ino invocation cation was offered uy ely elder peter ion after which tho the choir sang ang a hamn beginning away with our fears president lames james M peterson made the opening address of the conference regretting the small attendance and the fact that we would not bo be blessed with the attendance of any members 0 of 1 the general authorities apostles lieber heber J grant and joseph F smith jr had been appointed to attend the i conference but they had telegraphed president young that owing to tile the funeral service over the remains of elder ben E S rich bedig held on sunday they would be unable to be present i Pr president eident peterson gave a biily brief report of conatti conditions ons in the stake stating that the work ws was progressing there wore were a number of matters that needed adjustment but they would be attended to in the near future during the course of his remarks president peterson said that we should understand each other bettor second ward and lancelot graham of tile the richfield Ri first ward gave reports of their labors in foreign mission fields the experiences they had met in spreading the gospel had strengthened their testimony of the truth of the same while the spread of the gospel met some opposition at times and in all places still it was gaining ground and many converts were beine added to the fold the stake attending summer music school ile he had tile the elders whenever hir he had had an opportunity ind and had bad received much pleasure in so doing there were ninny many circumstances that cre assisting the spread of the gospel gasp el as well as the labors of the elders many visitors to utah had been impressed with the earnest faith exhibited by the latter day saints and were referring to
